We provide a variety of programs and services designed to raise awareness among medical and other professionals of the impact of pregnancy and infant loss on families:
Outreach and Educational Programs
Working with women and men who grieve the loss of a pregnancy or infant can be a challenge for any professional. What do the bereaved want and expect from their caregivers? How can professionals best support their grieving patients/clients?
Through our educational programming, we work to close the communication gap between the bereaved and the professionals who care for them. Our overarching goal is to help professionals gain insight into the experiences of those who have lost a baby, thus improving the quality of the emotional care and support that women and men receive following the loss of a baby. Our programming is flexible: we can easily move from a lecture for one-hundred students to a roundtable discussion with a few established professionals. We will work closely with you to create a program that meets the needs and interests of you and your colleagues.

Compassionate Care Award
Each year, we present our Compassionate Care Award to a health care provider in the state of Connecticut. The purpose of this award is to recognize and promote excellence in the care of families that have lost a pregnancy or infant. Our 2016 honorees were Bonnie Blair, Newborn Special Care Nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital and Elise Resch, Nurse Midwife with Women’s Health Associates. Learn more about the Compassionate Care Awards on our Events page.
Burial and Cremation Assistance
Our Burial and Cremation Assistance program provides financial assistance to low-income parents in Connecticut who cannot afford a burial or cremation following the loss of a pregnancy or infant. Families are referred to us from Connecticut hospitals and medical practices. Please contact us to learn how we can help your patients who might benefit from this program.
