I feel most connected to my baby when I am alone and at the cemetery, visiting him. It is the most beautiful little cemetery and only a mile and a half down the street from our house, so I walk there quite often. It is so peaceful there. I know a lot of people don't like them but I grew up with my grandmother taking me and my sister to a local cemetery and we would have lunch there, sometimes. As kids, it was almost a magical place, with lots of flower gardens and benches, we didn't think it was weird. I'm so thankful for that experience because now, as a bereaved mother, I find solace and peace when I visit my son's resting place. I can connect with him and talk to him without any distractions of the rest of the world. It's just us.
